a dune buggy with an amazing active suspension. Ever when you were first a noob made a vehicle with keepupright? It's almost that stable. GORGEOUS computer-controlled system monitors performance and keeps vehicle level. The big sand dunes of gm_buttes I barely even noticed riding over. This vehicle is amazing, and I'm going to keep using the suspension on other vehicles probably. I'm thinking of making a tutorial, if I get comments I'll make a tutorial. The suspension itself is a hybrid between passive and active suspensions. It does add energy as a true active does, but also features the passive suspension's robustness. The front axle has two elastics on a double wishbone and a third elastic that only functions to dampen the springiness; it's stretch only. The front also has a ballast weight. The rear has adjustable strength torsion bars which dynamically adjust on the fly in response to driving conditions. The gyrostabilization unit control sthe ballast and small auxiliary thrusters to keep the vehicle virtually perfectly level. The end result of all these shocks and complex systems is that it's like GLIDING over the sand dunes. The ride quality difference should be noticeable easily. it also features drivewheel clutching to make very tight steering with only 2WD and to also get better traction in turns and when climbing obstacles. Miata Car PC tour

Just finished the install of my Car PC. I was having some cooling issues, so I added a large external fan to help the problem. If that doesn't work, I'll vent air to the PC via a vinyl hose. The PC is a Jetway CIA C7 on MINI ITX board with 1 GB memory and 160 sata drive, DVD/CD drive mounted in a VOOMPC 2 case. I mounted the case behind the passenger seat (which is the old stock location for the earlier Miata's ECU.) The case is velcro'd to the carpet and doesn't budge at all and has the added benefit of being shock resistant by not be hard mounted to the frame. The screen is a Xenarc 7" touchscreen mounted into the stock Miata bezel ring. Fits perfectly with only some minor trimming of the monitor bezel. The system has Sirius, HD Radio, IPOD, Navigation, OBD2 interface. There are hundreds of plug ins available for the Centrafuse front end, including trip computer, tire pressure / temp monitors, gas calculators and so on. In total, I spent about 800.00 on the whole thing, which is still cheaper than some of the top end touch screen systems that are available as front end installs, but they don't have nearly as many features or the ability to expand like a CarPC install does.

The driver never has to look to see if it is OK (which would be a compulsion when driving and recording) because the system is always providing visual feedback and at times, spoken feedback. The laptop runs the system and directly controls the leds, displays and monitors the switches. Each action has some sort of feedback.
